Established in 2021, the National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse (National Centre) is a symbol of hope and critical for advancing action for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. Guiding the National Centre is a vision for a “community where children are safe and victims and survivors are supported to heal and recover, free of stigma and shame – a future without child sexual abuse.” We have been commissioned to conduct an independent evaluation of the National Centre’s operational activities and outcomes. This work is ongoing, and is intended to support learning, accountability and improvement aspirations – particularly as the National Centre progresses into its role as a peak body for action on child sexual abuse in Australia. Our approach has been built using a participatory utilisation focused lens, which focuses on the key users of evaluation activity and engaging them early, and throughout, an evaluation.
