2023: Convened by Climateworks Centre and Climate-KIC Australia, the Australian Industry Energy Transition Initiative (ETI) has provided a platform for bringing together diverse industry actors from across Australia to accelerate action towards achieving net zero emissions in hard-to-abate supply chains.
This project applied a Realist Evaluation lens to this evaluation to help explain how and why ETI influenced outcomes of interest. This project involved developing and testing a realist-based Program Theory, through analyses of existing data, key informant interviews, and interactive workshops. This work has helped key stakeholders better understand the conditions required to mobilise a complex multi-stakeholder platform, and the role of convening partners in supporting diverse stakeholders to collaborate. Findings from this work are assisting Climateworks in their ongoing work to support decarbonisation among Australian industrial actors.
