Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal

Disaster Resilience Social Impact Evaluation

2023 – ongoing: For more than 20 years, the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) has provided support to remote, regional and rural communities – including in the context of disaster risk reduction and community resilience. Since 2012, FRRR has supported the implementation of Disaster Resilient: Future Ready (DR:FR) as one way of contributing to the disaster preparedness and resilience of communities, and which is the focus of this evaluation project.

FRRR has commissioned Day Four Projects as a learning partner to observe, document and share insights from implementing the DR:FR initiative in Queensland. The focus of the evaluation is on the effectiveness of the DR:FR initiative, as well as opportunities for adaptation and adjustments that could be made to improve program outcomes. Day Four Projects has adopted an approach informed by Developmental Evaluation to ensure a robust, practical, and participatory evaluation that builds a shared understanding of the outcomes of the DR:FR initiative, and the contribution the program has made to disaster resilience.
