Supporting strong online stakeholder engagement for youth mental health

Case Studies

The Challenge

With so many of us moving towards online and hybrid ways of working, our capacities, skills and confidence in designing and delivering strong stakeholder engagement are mixed. This project sought to enhance the online engagement skills and capacities of staff within headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation in Australia.

We worked with a core group of 20 headspace stakeholder engagement professionals to co-design and implement a comprehensive training program with additional supports for convening diverse stakeholders in meaningful ways online. Following early successes, headspace extended training and support to include over 100 participants from across the organisation. In addition, we introduced a cohort of Champions, including additional resources, webinars and support to embed peer-support and Action Based Learning into the work of the organisation.

Engaging and participatory training sessions were designed and held for staff across headspace’s national network. Comprehensive learning materials were distributed, complemented by in-session support and co-design of workshops, training and other events. The result is an organisation making a strong transition to hybrid ways of working with purposeful and engaging online experiences across the organisation.
