Stakeholder mapping

Stakeholder mapping systematically identifies and lays out all the potential stakeholders of a Multi-Stakeholder Partnership. Stakeholder maps provide a visual representation of the people and groups of relevance to the MSP, and their interconnections.

Why do it?

Stakeholder Mapping is a useful approach for understanding and identifying relationships between individuals, groups and organisations. It can be used:

- when establishing a new MSP;

- when trying to expand or diversify the members of an MSP;

- when establishing governance arrangements for leadership positions within an MSP.

Stakeholder maps help to identify those stakeholders with a high level of influence; those stakeholders who may benefit most; where resources are available to support your efforts; and provide critical intelligence for a strong and stable MSP.
