The challenge: Our client was seeking guidance on a harmonised data architecture that was relevant across its suite of out-of-hospital clinical care initiatives. The challenge was in identifying core data requirements, alignment with industry standards, and data collection approaches.
Approach: Detailed review of existing data collection systems, capacities and structures; external review of 15 relevant databases, including indicators, data definitions, and analysis procedures; formulation of recommendations for informing the development of a minimum data set to accompany ongoing quality improvement activities.
